In 2008, I left the world of advertising and joined Costa Coffee as their Writer-in-Residence. During that period I wrote a collection of short stories which were downloadable from their website. Over 20,000 drinkers did. So in 2009, they published them in a little book. And sold the lot.
Though that book is now out of print two of those stories – Save Our Bacon and The Peacock Case – are here to download. Animator Peter Baynton, with the help of Channel 4 and the Film Council turned Save our Bacon into a beautiful short film which scooped the Childrens’ Jury Award at the Bristol Encounters Festival in 2010.

Tip – While the stories download, toast an English muffin lightly on both sides and spread with butter. Retire to a comfy chair. Repeat for best results.
